On New Year’s Day 2005 a five person team from Tippett’s Chapel embarked on a mission trip to Cuba. They delivered toys for the children of Cuba as well as other supplies that were collected by the Tippett’s Chapel congregation.
The team arrived in Havana on Sunday evening and ministered at the De Lisa Church. On Monday they traveled to Pinar Del Rio to work at the Cedars of Lebanon Seminary. Professor Ron Callaway of Free Will Baptist Bible College served as a guide and interpreter for the team. The pastor, Dr. Eddie Moody, and Dr. Evelyn Niday, of Bayer, taught the seminary students. Robert Frampton, a computer specialist, provided some much needed technical support to the seminary. Susan Lafone, a Lab Specialist, worked at the seminary and a church in Pinar Del Rio. Mr. Frampton also assisted Cuban pastors as they made video footage of the damage caused by the hurricanes last fall. They plan to develop a DVD about the impact of the hurricanes that can be used to raise funds for relief efforts.
